Where to get Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI Speaker (Single, White) Worth the moneyBy jplattetI know good speakers when I hear them. My home system has 4 JBL 4311B control monitors and it doesn't get much better than that. I got a pair of the Polk 8's and hooked them up to a vintage Pioneer SX-1080 receiver that pushes 120 watts per channel of real old-school RMS power and gave them the acid test. I gotta tell ya, for a 6.5" bass driver I was shocked at the bass response. The highs are crisp and bright. If I would have one suggestion for Polk it might be to add a midrange driver but that's nitpicking and can be taken care of with a nip-and-tuck of your tone controls. The bottom line is that when hooked up to a classic old amplifier with limitless reserves of power, these speakers delivered superior sound. If they are in your price range give them a listen. You'll be impressed. If they are not in your price range, give a listen anyway and ask yourself if you might wanna wait and save up the money.
