The small unobtrusive speaker delivers a credible, enveloping surround field from behind my couch. My wife and I really appreciate the lack of wires to multiple speakers. As pointed out by another reviewer, the speaker will go into standby mode after ~10 - 15 minutes in the absence of detected signal but during normal non-stereo programs (Dolby Digital movies, football games, TV shows or anything with a surround track) it continues to operate. When it does go into standby mode, the speaker emits a low-level chirping noise which I don't find objectionable.
